Don founded and led Short & Associates P.C. for 35 years, overseeing its growth until its merger with McCarthy, Rose & Mills, LLP in 2018. Before establishing his own practice, Don gained extensive experience in both public practice and investment banking, working as an auditor and management advisor. A proud alumnus of Texas Tech University, he graduated in 1977 and earned his Certified Public Accountant license in 1979. Throughout his career, Don cherished the opportunity to advise clients on structuring business opportunities to maximize their advantages, specializing in real estate, professional services, and hospitality operations. In 2024, Don retired, reflecting fondly on his professional journey and the meaningful relationships he built along the way.
